Our PW group collects the PCUSA PW offerings of the Fellowship of the Least Coin, Birthday Offering, and Thank Offering.
PW gatherings meet the second Tuesday of each month from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the church fellowship hall.
A light dinner begins at 6 followed by a video series.
The Horizon Bible Study lead by Pastor Mary Ellen is held in the church parlor on the third Tuesday of each month at 10 a.m.
What Presbyterian Women Do
Presbyterian Women understands that scripture asks us to be the hands and feet of Christ in the world. As such, Presbyterian Women provides information about justice and peace and ministry to inform mission and community-building work. It may be easier to tell you what Presbyterian Women doesn’t do! Presbyterian Women “do” food pantries, letter-writing campaigns, Bible studies, tutoring, relationship building and so much more. All of Presbyterian Women’s activities center on the PW Purpose.
PW Purpose:
- to nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study,
- to support the mission of the church worldwide,
- to work for justice and peace, and
- to build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and witnesses to the promise of God’s kingdom.
Presbyterian Women Churchwide also offers a number of opportunities for mission:
Birthday Offering and Thank Offering
The Birthday and Thank Offerings have supported thousands of mission projects worldwide. The Birthday Offering has primarily funded capital improvement projects, while the Thank Offering has funded smaller, new or expanded projects and small capital improvement projects.
Fellowship of the Least Coin
Fellowship of the Least Coin is a global, ecumenical prayer movement that was begun in 1956 by Shanti Solomon of India, who believed that women anywhere could have a sense of being part of a worldwide family of faith. This offering is used for funding special projects of evangelism, service, ecumenical solidarity, awareness-building among women, and relief throughout the world.
